Please bid on my behalf for the following lot(s) offered at either the Art for Africa™ Live Auction or Silent Auction, as the case may be, up to the maximum U.S. dollar bid price(s) stated below. These bids are to be executed as cheaply as is permitted by other bids or reserves and in an amount up to but not exceeding the specified amounts.

If you are paying by cheque please remember to include your cheque card guarantee number on the back of the cheque, along with your address.
ABSENTEE BIDS: If you are unable to attend the Art for Africa™ Live Auction and wish to place bids or wish to bid on lots offered for sale through the Art for Africa™ Silent Auction you may give Africa Foundation (USA) instructions to bid on your behalf. We will then try to purchase the lot(s) of your choice at the lowest price possible and to a maximum price as indicated by you. Please note that Africa Foundation (USA) offers this service to help supporters who are unable to attend the event and although we will make every effort, we will not be responsible for any errors or failure to execute bids for any reason. Absentee bids must be received in writing.
ABSENTEE BID FORM: Please use the absentee bid form provided. Be sure to record accurately the lot numbers and descriptions and the maximum price you are willing to pay for each lot - this should be the amount to which you would bid if you were attending the sale yourself. Unlimited bids will not be accepted. Alternative bids must be placed in the same order as the lot numbers appear in the catalogue. By using the word ‘or’ between lot numbes. In the event of identical bids, the earliest received will take precedence.
SILENT AUCTION: Bidding on lots in the Art for Africa™ Silent Auction will commence on Tuesday, October 12 during the Art for Africa™ Gala Dinner and will close at the end of the Art for Africa™ Live Auction to be held at Sotheby’s on the evening of Thursday, November 17. Buyers wishing to place bids on lots offered in the Silent Auction should contact Sotheby’s by phone at +1 212-606-7256 for starting bids and current increments or fax a completed Absentee/Telephone Bid form to Sotheby’s at fax number +1 212-606-7016 (Bid Department). Bidding will commence below the stated value of each lot.
TELEPHONE BIDS: Arrangement of telephone bids must be made at least 24 hours prior to the Live Auction. To arrange for telephone bid, please use the Absentee Bid/Telephone Bid form at the back of this catalogue and on our website (www.artforafrica-newyork.com). Please refer to Absentee Bid information above.
SUCCESSFUL BIDS: Successful bidders will receive an invoice from Africa Foundation (USA) detailing their purchase(s) and giving instructions for payment and clearance of goods.
