Born in 1952
Studied Russian and Arabic at Leeds University (1970-72), Croydon College of Art (1972-73), and then fine art at Goldsmiths College, London (1973-76).
At Goldsmiths, Ziranek became focused on all aspects of performance art when the progressive approach to contemporary art led her to design her own course of study.
Although known primarily as a performance artist, she also creates photographs and sculptural works and 'costume constructions' initially created in connection with a performance, but which later existed as autonomous objects.
Her art is also about the architecture of the soul and encompasses performance, poetry and the spoken word, scale, colour, autonomy, humility, diligence, flamboyance, ability and stacking.
