Artist biography:
Born: 1967, New York
E. V. Day received her MFA in Sculpture from Yale University. Shortly after graduation, Day began her 'Exploding Couture' series, the first installment of which, 'Bombshell' , was included in the 2000 Whitney Biennial and was thereafter purchased by the Whitney Museum of American Art for their permanent collection. Her work explores themes of feminism and sexualtity and employs various suspension technics and reflexions upon popular culture.
Day's work is included in numerous collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, NASA, The Lever House Art Collection, San Francisco MOMA, The National Museum of Women in the Arts, The New York Public Library, The New Museum of Contemporary Art and The Peter Norton Collection.
E.V. Day lives and works in New York City.
